Carter Is 7: What He Says

And just like that it has been 7 years. 7 years of joy with our sweet Carter Boy. It won't be long until I have to call him our sweet Carter Man. I always loved first grade as a teacher because the kids go from seeming like little babies who can't do a whole lot on their own to independent kids who can read and write and are so sweet and joyful. As a parent this transition has been just as joyful but also a bit emotional. I guess that's the way it will always be as a parent. You love the person your child becomes but also miss the child they used to be. I knew it was coming but our chubby cheeked boy has thinned out into a sweet child who can articulate his feelings, asks deep questions, and reads everything! Even putting together words I try spelling to Ty so he won't know what I'm saying. It's hard to believe it was 7 years ago that we were walking the halls of the hospital, excited for his arrival. 7 years! That seems like so long compared to how long it has felt. Time sure flies when your kids are growing up. I loved doing Carter's interview with him this year, especially reading his answers from previous years. Here is his interview about himself at 7 years old. Read his 6 your old interview here, 5 years old here, 4 years old here, and 3 years old here.
