Ty's 2nd Father's Day

Sunday morning I planned to get up with Carter to let Ty sleep in.  I had asked Ty whether he'd rather me make him breakfast or go to IHOP.  He chose IHOP so when Carter woke up we got up and played and didn't have to worry about cooking.  Carter must've thought it was Mother's Day because he slept in until 8:00!!!!  Ty didn't sleep much later than us and then we headed out for IHOP.  We decided to let Carter try a booster seat and he loved the new found freedom.  He ate his food and then decided to stand, peer over the wall, and say "hi" to the people sitting in the booth on the other side.  It was hilarious!  When we got home it was nap time so Carter went down and we got some chores done.
In his jammies with the remote.  Looks like Ty's dream Father's Day!

Hello over there!

My parents and Thomas arrived while Carter was sleeping and we all enjoyed some family time.  Then Ty had asked to grill out like we had on Mother's Day so we headed to the store to stock up on food.  Ty grilled and mom played with Carter while Thomas, Jeremy, dad, and I played soccer.  Everybody was itching to kick a ball around after watching the World Cup games.  There were a few close calls where the ball zinged right by Carter and then I accidentally kicked it into his legs.  It definitely added an extra element of difficulty to have to watch Carter and attempt to avoid him.  After dinner Ty and dad opened their presents and then we played some more soccer with Ty in goal.  It was much more difficult to score because Ty is such a good goal keeper.  So our Father's Day meant grilled sausages and chicken, puppy chow, soccer, family time, and Carter walking around exclaiming "Daddy!" anytime he saw Ty.  It was the perfect day not just for Ty, but for me as well.
Ready to block a goal.

  1. Dad says Carter says, "Hey, does anyone have ketshup?" in the last one. Very cute pictures, as always. Must be because Carter is so cute.
