Funny Stuff the Kids Say

While eating dinner, "Even though I don't like what you made, I don't hate you. I still love you." -Elise

"Why is your skin so much browner than ours?" -Carter, talking to me, lol!

The kids both call crickets, "jumping cockroaches".

Carter to Elise: You think dadda's the fastest when mommy's around?! Then he starts laughing hysterically.

Ty had an exposure to Covid at work and the following conversations occurred between the time he found out and when he got tested. He ended up testing negative.

Carter to Ty: Before you go back to work, take your temperature!
Elise to Ty: Yeah, I don't want you to get the sickness!

I kissed Ty when he got home from work and Elise said, "What are you doing, do you want daddy to get you sick?!"

"This is an audiobook, don't let them see me." -Elise turned the phone to face the wall while she was reading to Oma and Opa over FaceTime.

"Why can't they put me to sleep when they do this?" -Carter getting skin glue

"Daddy came in to kiss me and his hair smells good too. Not as good as yours. It smelled like flowers."-Carter

"I always know we're getting close to Gma and Gpa's because the rocks we circle around." -Carter talking about roundabouts

"She learned me." -Elise when she talks about someone teaching her something

"Mommy already ate her slime!" -Elise talking about my Gu when I got home from a long run

Elise: I don't like hairy stuff, that's why I don't like your nipples.
Ty: Yeah
Elise: Yes, this hairy place, like here.
She lifts her arm and shows her armpit.
Ty: Oh, my armpit, but my nipples are hairy too.

Carter: Why aren't you coming outside to play?
Me: Because I want to rest for a little bit. While you guys were all resting and watching tv, I was working in the kitchen so I'm tired.
Elise: And she ran a really long mile yesterday so I believe she's tired! (referring to my marathon)

"Don't drink the milk, it tastes like dead chickens!" -Carter

Elise: What about my other teacher who always talks in Spanish?
Me: Sra. Contreras, you already made her a picture.
Elise: No, the other one who does math.
She was talking about videos from Eureka Math.

Me: Singing along to Poker Face by Lady Gaga.
Carter: Did it say Booger Face?
Me: No, she says Poker Face.
I continue singing along.
Carter: What is she saying?
Me: Poker face.
Carter: Are you sure it's not Booger Face?

The kids had a blast with these balls made of glow sticks.

The kids were so worn out they fell asleep on the way home.

Carter found a small frog.

Wordless Wednesday

Decorating a Dough It Yourself box from Hurts Donuts.

Elise's Scholastics News magazines have been about apples so we cut an apple to see the star inside and then painted with them to practice the color names in Spanish.

Carter's sweet science teacher let him share his habitats page he made while we were at the zoo during their Zoom Meeting.
We found a chrysalis on our walk to the school.

Playing at the playground and Tesla pulled on her leash to get to me and then climbed up like this.
The best part of my morning runs is watching the sunrise!

Elise drawing what the caterpillars looked like when we got them.
In Carter's science class they talked about the wetland habitat so we went to check one out. Elise was all scientist!

This is how Elise dresses when it's 60* out in the morning and she wants to jump on the trampoline.
New Halloween pajamas from Oma an Opa

Elise ready to go on a run with me.
Carter riding his bike while I ran.

Elise wanted to write a book outside.
Elise named this caterpillar "Lunatic".

Making caramel apples

Carter wanted to make his own eggs for breakfast. He did it all by himself and even made them green.

I was so proud of Elise, I went to the bathroom and when I came back she was following along and doing what her teacher told her to in her language notebook!
Carter's hamster, Katie, turned white for winter early. She's changing back now and looks like a panda because her fur around her eyes changed first.

My pretty Halloween decorations!
One of Elise's vocabulary words this week is oficina so we ate lunch with Ty in his office and practiced saying the word while we were there.

Elise's tablet was out of battery so Carter told her he would share his. When I came in he was watching her play on his tablet.
Pumpkin Patch fun in Sand Springs.

Elise got to see an oveja which is another one of her vocabulary words of the week.

Elise came in and told me she made a ghost costume.
Decorating pumpkins with stickers from Oma and Opa.
