Elise's 7th Birthday

The night before Elise's 7th birthday she asked me if I would lay with her for a little bit since it was almost her birthday. How could I say no?! She snuggled up to me an fell asleep which made it really hard to leave. Eventually I did, but I laid there for a long time. Her birthday fell on a Monday. Normally she is so sad to go to school on Mondays, but she was so excited because she knew she was going to get presents from her teachers. Since 1st grade was departmentalized starting this year, she would get something for her birthday from 3 different teachers. She wanted to take a special treat for her birthday. Treats have to be individually wrapped so she picked bags of chocolate chip cookies from Sam's. The night before Ty used packing tape to make a handle so she could carry it by herself since she was riding the bus.

Birthday Eve Snuggles!

Prepping the box for Elise to carry on her own.

That morning she was really excited to blow out her candle which was stuck in a Peep. We sang her Happy Birthday. I was able to snag a birthday announcement for the school's marquee. She was excited to see her name on the sign, but was upset it was misspelled. They fixed it the following day. She picked Panera mac and cheese for dinner and was super excited to open her presents.

Her name corrected on the marquee.

When she made her birthday list she wanted My Little Ponies and Encanto toys. Then right before her birthday she got really into Pokemon cards. So we mostly got her My Little Ponies and Encanto toys but threw in a couple packs of Pokemon cards as well. Jeremy stopped by with an ice cream sundae from Braum's for her dessert. She was too full to eat it but saved it and ate it the following day.
